Resolution Issue on OpenSSH sessions

avatar

Hi Team,

I truly like RDM app, I've been using for so long... but recently I have to change to a Linux version, specifically on Ubuntu 25.04 and I got really upset on how Ubuntu version lacks of UI usability compared to Windows version.

But I've been trying to fix in some way the weird resolution that OpenSSH sessions have on RDM 2025.1.1.3.

As you can see on the screenshot, there is a huge difference between the Version window and the terminal resolution at the background. On the second image, I zoomed in, but the blurry and weird resolution does not goes away.

I would appreciate If you guys help me to adjust that. It might not be that visible on the screenshots, but I confirmed with a second person coming here and validated.

Also, is it possible to use the native Linux terminal? perhaps could prevent that issue with RDM terminal.

Hello,

Another user has reported this issue as well in the following post: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/42550/terminal-text-fuzzy-with-4k-scaling.

We're in the process of completely redesigning our SSH implementation. A fix for this problem will be included as part of that update or soon after its release.

Best regards,

Hi Simon,

Thank you for your assistance pointing out this other post. I could use the GDK_SCALE=1.25 and it kind of address the issue - While the OpenSSH get a bit better (still can see a blurry fonts) but also makes the entire RDM UI too tiny. Apart from all the customisation, to launch RDM on that scale I would need to make some customisations on launcher icons, and that's a lot of effort that will not address the issue.

Meanwhile, I created some terminal aliases to connect to my SSH VMs and enabled the Terminal tabs so I can go through these days without RDM until the next RDM version. By the way, do you have an estimate date for the next RDM release? Do we receive email notifications about new versions?

Thank you for now. If someone find a convenient solution for that, feel free to share with me.

Hi reynaldoaguiar1,

We’ve just released a new version (2025.2.1.3) that includes a fix for the fuzzy text issue.

Please let us know if it doesn't work for you.
