Provide a method to compare users with RDM licenses to those with Gateway licenses

My assumption would be that people who are user RDM are connecting to servers and all our server connections user the gateway. But I have a difference in the RDM licenses that were auto assigned and the Gateway licenses that were auto assigned. It would be great to have a license report that would have all licenses, RDM, PAM, Gateway, and DVLS Cal so we could easily see the license usage by user.

Hello,

Thank you for your request. I understand why you are asking, given all the different licenses required today. However, it is important to know that starting with version 2025.1, our licensing model has changed. The Devolutions Server license, Gateway license, and DVLS Cal license have been removed. Our new licensing model is oriented towards different usages:

  • Workforce password management
  • Remote access management
  • Remote connection management
  • Privileged access management

You can access information on those different usages here: https://devolutions.net/solutions/

Each user should be assigned only one license once this model is fully implemented, so it should not be too hard for a user to know if they have the right license. However, even with this new model, the report that you suggested could eventually be useful, especially if a user needs a PAM license after an upgrade. I am taking note of your request and will discuss it with the team to see if it could be beneficial. We will post back here once we have an update.

Best regards,

Hi @François Dubois ,

I was wondering if there’s any update regarding this feature request.
We also need to provide monthly reports on DVLS usage, including the additional license package for "Remote Desktop Manager (Single User)". Currently, we have to create these reports manually. Or will the additional license for Remote Desktop Manager also be discontinued (and migrated to Remote connection management)?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Unfortunately, we have not worked on that, and no progress has been made. But if I understand correctly, you would like to have a report listing all users with licenses assigned to them? A report similar to that would work?

User 1 | License 1
User 2 | License 1 + License 2
User 3 | License 1
User 4 | License 2 + License 3

Am I right?

Hi @François Dubois,

No problem at all that it hasn’t been looked into further.
I was just curious if it happened to be available in some way.
The example you mentioned is indeed what I’m looking for. And if it can be generated as a report, we could schedule it.
But if that’s not possible, I completely understand and we’ll just continue doing it manually.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. We are planning our next development cycle soon. We will see if it can be done during that cycle if we don't have other priorities.

Best regards,
