Unable to move entries between vaults

Unable to move entries between vaults

I am unable to move entries between vaults. I tried using Workspace and the web interface. The main goal is to move entries from User vaults into Shared vaults since users tend to save new credentials to their user vaults. I don't think I can do this as an Admin since I can't access user vaults, and I'd like our users to do this anyways. Is this possible? What am I doing wrong?

Using the web interface, I am able to Export items from the user vault to an RDM file, then import them into the shared vault folder. However, I am not able to copy-paste entries between vaults (paste is never listed as an option, but it appears that I can copy entries). I should have permission though, and Import is allowed in the system permissions:

The Move option does not appear in the web interface, and in Workspace, I am able to click Move, but it doesn't allow me to select a destination vault:

I tried using the instructions from these posts, but nothing appears to work, including the copy-paste method

I'm using Devolutions Server 2024.3.13.0. I do not have RDM.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter.

The feature you seek is not part of the DVLS web interface.
You can move entries from a shared vault to another shared vault but not from a user vault to a shared vault.

I will move this topic to the feature request section for DVLS.
Our feature request forum allows our community to submit/share ideas with our development, service desk, and management teams. It’s also an opportunity for our community to demonstrate an interest in your idea. We use this interest to prioritize the features we implement.

Best regards,

Thank you. Is there a way for non-admins to move between shared vaults? It looks like I can't do this either (tried using Workspace).

+1 vote for non admins to be able to move between shared vaults

Hello,

Thank you for your request. Moving an entry is possible between shared vaults, but not between a user vault and shared vaults. I will talk with other teams to investigate how difficult it would be and if it makes sense to add that option. We will post back here once we have an update.

Best regards,

Hello, are there any updates on this? A few employees are leaving, and I'd prefer not to manually move the accounts that are wrongly stored in the user vault to a shared vault.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA for that request. However, if your goal is to retrieve entries from a user vault of an employee who is leaving, the system will ask you if you want to transfer the user vault to a shared vault when you delete the user.

Is it something that could help you? Otherwise, how would you like to proceed to retrieve the user's entries? If I understand what you do, you use to log in with the user account, and you would like to move them to a shared vault, am I understanding correctly ? Don't hesitate to give me details about your needs.

Best regards,

The delete transfer should work for this batch of old users, thank you.

However, the request still stands for general ability to transfer of accounts from active users that are mistakenly stored in the wrong location. I'll keep going through those manually for the moment. Please let me know when there's a timeline for this addition, if at all.

Hello,

Absolutely, we will keep that request in mind and see if we can prioritize it at some point. We will post back here once we have an update.
