Hi,
I'm wondering if there is any chance to update the freerdp used by RDM to freerdp3.
This is much better, from my point of view. Better graphics, better clipboard aso.
If I configure it as external app, it works, but that is not what RDM is for. It would be great if it could be embedded in the main window.
Kind regards
Alexander
(System is Kubuntu 24.10 with KDE Plasma 6.1.5, Wayland)
Hello,
We are currently using FreeRDP 3, specifically version 3.11.0.
If you're experiencing clipboard issues, it's likely a bug in RDM rather than FreeRDP. We recently released a fix related to the RDP clipboard. In most cases, if you encounter unusual behavior while using RDP, try disabling sandboxing (Edit your RDP connection -> RDP -> Advanced -> Disable sandboxing).
Please let us know if you experience any issues that do not occur when using FreeRDP externally.

Hi Simon,
thanks for the Information - Then it is possible an Error...
In FreeRDP3 I can copy a file in the RDP Session and paste it into my machine, in RDM it is not possible.
Also I noticed that the Clipboard has (sometimes) a limit. If I copy a text it is cut off or in previous versions the whole session was closed.
I have updated to the actual version 2024.3.2.13 yesterday, and since that I can copy more text, but still no file.
I have deactivate the sanboxinng a while ago, and it worksfine with teh text copy, but after a while the issue was back again.
Maybe you have an idea what's the reason.
Kind regards,
Alexander
Hi Alexander,
In FreeRDP3 I can copy a file in the RDP Session and paste it into my machine, in RDM it is not possible.
Currently, RDM does not support file or image transfer via the clipboard, only text can be copied and pasted in an RDP session. However, we do have plans to improve this, and I will bump the priority of this feature.

The issue that caused text to be cut off and led to session crashes has recently been fixed. If you're still experiencing this problem, please let us know the size of the text you're trying to copy so we can attempt to reproduce it.

Hello,
Thank you for being so patient!
I'm pleased to inform you that a new version of RDM Linux (2025.3.2.2) has been released. It now supports image handling through the clipboard.
Latest Version: Download RDM
Please let us know if this works or if you encounter any issues.
