Automatically copy the OTP to clipboard

Hi Jeff

When I open a password entry via the workspace app on my mobile, which has also OTP token, the App automatically copies the OTP into the clipboard, so I can just paste it without the need of going into the app again to copy it.

Can this also be implemented into the Browser version of workspace? Would be nice to have the same great features.

Thanks and kind regards.
Patrick

@mad,

I created a completely new topic with the information that you sent me and posted here in our feature request section.

I will advise our development team.

Hi,

With the Devolutions Workspace browser extension, you can effortlessly autofill the OTP code directly on a website. This can be achieved by using the “One-Time Password ID” attribute located in the “Login -> HTML Control ID” tab of the “Edit Website” form.

To configure this feature, you’ll need to identify the field ID or name where the OTP code should be filled—this is the same field where you would typically paste the OTP code manually. For guidance, please refer to the method outlined in the help page linked below:
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/kb/how-to-articles/otp-autofill-workspace-browser-extension/

Once set up, the browser extension will automatically autofill your username, password, and OTP code, eliminating the need for clipboard usage or manual pasting.

We have a ticket for the feature request to automatically copy the OTP to the clipboard after autofill in the browser extension. We will add your feedback in it. Thank you for your feedback!

+1 to this.

How nice it is when setup, it's an absolute pain having to set it up for each otp entry.
Workspace should be better to "guess" what is OTP, at least when you write-click in a OTP field and selects the entry.
It can figure out where the username and password goes without any adding of HTML-id's.
At least, when right-clicked in a OTP field and it correctly identify that neither Username or password should go there, why not just as a fall back insert OTP? - There must be some reason why I right-clicked and selected that entry.

Lastly if adding the HTML-id continues to be a thing, could a "finder" be added, so you press something in Workspace and selects the OTP field on the webpage and Workspace automatically updates the HTML-id, so you don't manually have to dev-tools and all that?

Hello Norphf,

Thank you for your response!

I wanted to let you know that I've created an internal ticket for your issues with Workspace and sent you an email with details on scheduling a session. During this session with one of my colleagues from the QA Teams, we’ll review your issues, observe the behaviour, and work to reproduce the problem on our end or try to resolve it directly if possible.

Thank you for your collaboration. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

Best regards,

Hi Maxim

I just wonder if the ticket to copy the OTP automatically to the clipboard, like it is in the IOS App will be implemented sometime? Or as a setting so people can decided if they want that after filling out the fields.

Thanks and best regards.
