SFTP prompt for host IP

avatar

Hello,
Is it possible to create sftp (or ssh) entry which when started to show prompt with list of IPs to be used for connection?
I tried with alternate hosts in my sftp entry:

When I start the entry:

After selecting one of the not highlighted&locked IP (not sure why the entries are duplicated):

Connection is OK when instead $ALTERNATE_HOSTS$ variable a single IP is used in "SFTP/Host" field.

Thank you in advance

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

Could you confirm if all your sessions use the default port 22?
If not, you will need to specify the port under Description > Alternate Host, next to each IP address.

Hello,

After your question about the port I decided to try adding the port to the alternate hosts and it works
.

Prompt is like:

When an IP address is selected, a session is created to the corresponding server.

No. Nothing is configured in the Proxy tab. But I have custom GW (jump host) configured in "Gateway" tab.

Apologies for the delayed response.

We have successfully reproduced the issue you reported.
Our development team is now working on a solution, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the fix is included in the next RDM Linux update!

Hello,

I received feedback from the development teams regarding using the $ALTERNATE_HOST$ variable in the host field. They recommend avoiding this approach, which can cause host "duplication" issues during session launches.

Instead, you can list the primary host/IP address in the host field and include any additional hosts in the alternate hosts menu. This adjustment should provide a smoother and more reliable experience.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Thank you Carl,

I confirm that "alternate hosts" work without appending port.
