Print password list from Workspace

Hi there!

we are currently testing the Devolution Business Hub and RDM for our company.
One issue that makes us struggeling with our decision is the fact that it is impossible to export a password list from Business Hub by using the web interface or the Workspace App. (for users not having any RDM-license)

Could you please add an export option to export (all or selected) vaults or folder into a printable html file containing plain text passwords (and everything else like custom fields, etc.)?

This would empower every user (that owns the propriate permissions) to create their own backup password lists for desaster cases.
Of course it would make sense to also add this export-option to RDM.
you want, you can put this html file into an encrypted zip-folder to secure it.

Would you be so kind and give me a note if this is might be implemented? This would be very helpful for our purchasing decision.

thanks!
Walter

Hi Walter, I will create a ticket in our (Workspace apps) backlog for your request. Since it’s a feature available in RDM, I don’t see why we couldn’t be doing it in the near future. I can’t promise any timeframe but I think we can make it happen in the next few weeks.

Hi Sebastien,

that would be great!

Just to complete the picture:
In RDM there is a function to export the passwords to html, but the passwords are not plain text. Today you have to click every password and enter another password to make the password visible (though the whole file is exported into an encrypted zip file).
There is an option to tick/untick the encryption, but this has no effect. (Maybe a bug?)
So this has to be fixed in RDM as well.

And, to be frank, maybe the design of the html file could be reworked slightly to reduce the wasted space and save some pages when printed out.

I hope you can get this done for both RDM and Workspace.

Thank you very much! I am looking forward to this!

Regards from sunny Austria!

Hi, we’ll look into the best way to do it and look with the RDM team for the (perhaps) bug in RDM too. Thanks for the clarification!

Hello Sebastien,

how is the status on that topic? When will the option print password-list be added into your Workspace App or the online platform? - we are still waiting for it being able to create hardcopy backups of our password-safe...

Walter

Hi Sebastien,

This function is good! Thank you!

I have two enhancement ideas/wishes:

  • is it possible to include this option also into the web client? (most of our users are using the web client)
  • is it posible to make it possible to export all entries? (like credit cards, etc. - not only passwords and websites)

It would be great if you could consider this in your development roadmap.

kind regards!
Walter

Hi Walter,

It is indeed possible for us to extend the feature to additional types. Could you please provide a list of the types you would like to include? I will also coordinate with the Web App team to confirm whether it's feasible for them to incorporate this feature. In the meantime, your users may utilize either Workspace or RDM as alternatives.

Hi Sebastien,

as we are using this function to produce hard copies for backup-reasons for us it would be the best to simply export all fields of all types.

In the meanwhile we use Workspace.

kind regards,
Walter

Hello, and thank you for the clarification.

In the meantime, you can export all your entries in each vault to a JSON file via the web interface. To do this, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Help & Tools from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the Export option.
  3. Choose JSON (or PowerShell, if preferred).
  4. Configure the desired options for each vault.

The resulting JSON file can serve as a "disaster recovery file," which you may later import in case of issues with your vaults. Please note that all sensitive data in this file will be encrypted. This method differs from the Export feature currently under discussion, but it may nonetheless offer a useful way to secure your vault information.

Best regards.

Hi Sebastien,

is there any update regarding the time when the export of all fields will be supported in Workspace and in the browser?

Good afternoon, sir.

I have the desktop version 2025.3.3.101 and was wondering if you could assist in pointing me in the direction of being able to utilize this feature?

I cannot find a print function anywhere within the desktop version.

Thank you!
