Currently when setting min and max version in DVLS there are 2 types of behaviours:
1) When the RDM version is outside the range defined there 3 options: Download and Install locally (url defined in dvls), open browser or later.
2) If recommended version is configured: DVLS-updater or later.
I want to be able to prevent anything related to the internet or anything that uses the users permissions because they don't have permission to update RDM.
It would be great if I could force the DVLS configured link only.
Hello,
If my understanding is right, your users can't update RDM themself on their desktop. So you don't want RDM to suggest update since they will not be able to install it. Am I right ? In that case, I would recommand you to check the configurationg "Disable checks for updates".
RDM will not check the version when it starts and will not suggest an update.
Let me know if it fills your needs.

Not exactly, they can't do it manually, but I created some workflow with the download URL:
1) It runs a script that enables a pre set GPO
2) The GPO runs with system user but users have access to run it.
3) The GPO closes RDM and updates it.
so I want to be able to enfroce just the custom download URL.
Thanks,
Ben
Hello Ben,
I've done some testing and from what I can tell, when RDM detects that you don't fit within the minimal/maximal version, you will be prompted between three choices:
If you've configured a download URL, the first option will open this custom URL instead of doing the normal update process, which seems to be what you want.
The issue I've found is the second option doesn't take the download URL into account. If we changed it so we removed the second option when a download URL is configured, would this solve the issue for you? I want to be sure that we correctly understand the issue and how best to resolve it.

Hi, yes but I think it should be done with a checkbox so if anyone is still using it they can choose to continue using it.
Also the Don't update option should be changed to "Dont update - Read Only" in my opinion to make it clearer of the consequences.
Thanks,
Ben
Thank you for the feedback, we will see what we can do and opened a ticket.

Thanks! I'll wait for an update on the subject.

Hello, any update on this. I would like the second option to follow the defined url too instead of opening devolutions webpage. Also tickbox to disable the second option alltogether would do the trick too.
Hello,
Nothing new for now but we will see if this is something we can do for 2025.3.
