Migrate from Passwordstate

Migrate from Passwordstate

avatar

Hi,

We've been using Passwordstate so far, but we would like to migrate all data from it to DVSL. How can we copy the entire tree into a new vault to sort the data from there?

Thank you and best regards.

Hello,

Are you only using Devolutions Server or do you also use Remote Desktop Manager?

We also use RDM and I connected RDM with Passwordstate, but don't see an option to import the lists...

Hello Danielmathis,

Thank you for being this patient!

Unfortunately, we do not have a Passwordstate environment to test this. Could you please provide us with the following information?

  • When exporting the information from Passwordstate, what type of files is it created?

Thank you for letting us know. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

Best regards,

Hello Danielmathis,

Thank you for your response!

Could you please try to import the .CSV from File > Import > Import Generic CSV Wizard and see if selecting the .CSV file downloaded from Passwordstate works?

Here's also a helpful topic about imports in RDM.
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/commands/file/import/

I suggest you create a folder before importing the .CSV to import it into that folder.

Please let us know if it doesn't work with the step above. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

Best regards,

Maxim Robert

I get it somehow working, but I can't import OTPs. With the CSV wizard I choose "credentials" and then set all my fields, but I don't have OTP on the RDM side.

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your response!

Does it still import but just not as OTP entries?

Thank you for letting us know. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

I can import the otpauth:// link from the csv, but where to put it in RDM? I just put it in a custom field, but that doesn't help that much...

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your response!

Would it be possible to provide us with a recording of the step you take? It will help us try to reproduce the issue and find a solution.

I sent you a private message with the information so you could provide us with the recording. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know.

Best regards,

Maxim Robert

For now we copied the OTP Tokens one by one, so this can be closed...
