RDM for Linux - MultiSubnetFailover

RDM for Linux - MultiSubnetFailover

Hello, we are using Remote Desktop Manager rather extensively (mostly from our Windows VDIs) but lately some of our users have moved over to Linux and we are testing out the app there.
One of the problems we have run into is that we have tried connecting to a Data Source running in an Always On AG with nodes in different subnets. Using Microsoft ODBC Driver for Linux (18) and MsSQL Tools for Linux I can connect to the database just fine on either node (with sqlcmd -E -C -M -S 'servername' ) , but seems that MultiSubnetFailover is not really part of the RDM package for Linux yet?

Works just fine in the windows version so would love to see it in the Linux version as well

Hello Marius,

Can you tell me whether your users have been exporting the data source from RDM Windows to RDM Linux, or have they been recreating it manually on Linux?

Best regards,

It's the same datasource - a MS SQL database no exporting or importing needed

The problem (as I tried to convey in my original post) is that when I try to set up a MS SQL Datasource in my RDM Linux client the "MultiSubnetFailover" option in Advanced - More Settings is not an option. And RDM will then only work sporadically depending on which node in the AlwaysON AG is the active node at the time..

MultiSubnetFailover is supported in Linux with Kerberos (Integrated Security) - so I would love for this feature to also be included in the RDM for Linux client

Thanks for the informations, we'll look into it.

In the mean time, could you create the data source on RDM Windows with MultiSubnetFailover enabled and then try to export it to Linux? This should include the MultiSubnetFailover setting, even if it's not available on the Linux version.
