I am wanting to provide feedback on the new item in Devolutions send. Being a company that focuses around security I wanted to provide some thoughts around this feature.
- The Send feature in the website is good and easy to use, providing easy access, but it should be able to include Customer Logos to make it more customizable.
- The 24-hour duration on the URL is a bit long, and you should have options to choose from for the times, 1-24hours.
Hello,
Thank you for providing your valuable feedback on Devolutions Send. I understand your concerns about customization and security enhancements for the Send feature.
We're currently planning a minor update to introduce varying expiration times, starting as low as 1 hour, to provide more flexibility. I'm not sure it will fit exactly your need but it's a small workaround for really short-term sensitive information exchange.
Additionally, the next phase of our roadmap includes
Your suggestion regarding the inclusion of customer logos for customization, and adding a required passphrase for enhanced security, are excellent. These ideas are now with our development team for consideration in future updates. Do you have an idea where and how the logo should be provided?
Please continue sharing your invaluable insights; they are crucial in helping us enhance our services to better meet your needs.
Best regards,
David Hervieux
I would make the background a place to put the corporate logo honestly.
Hello,
Sorry, my question was not clear. Since Devolutions Send is a public-facing service, what should be the workflow to provide your UI? Is it something we should upload at the same time that we create the encrypted message, knowing that the logo will not be encrypted?

David Hervieux
Hello,
We have released a new version of Devolutions Send with configurable duration and support for attachments. We have also added your logo idea to our to-do list, but I don't have an ETA for that.

Hi David,
I second Juan's idea of including the option to customise the background for logos.
Another great feature would be the option to make secure messages a one-time use link by default, or at the very least provide the option.
Hello,
The view count feature is next on our to-do list, even before the configurable logo.

Oh that's great, with regards to logo configuration, will that entail white labelling?
Hello,
There is no plan for white labeling. The logo will be pushed by a Devolutions Hub or a Devolutions Server as a mark of trust. It will be linked to the secret directly and displayed in the web interface. This could be a product configuration.
Perhaps you have something else in mind, like maybe deploying your own Devolutions Send, but for now, that's not possible since it's linked to our zero-knowledge cloud architecture.

Hi,
It is now possible to set a view limit on messages. The option will be available in the next 2024.3 release of RDM Windows and we are working on making it available in our other products too.

Devolutions Send is an awesome tool...
I'd love to see the possibility to generate a password from within Send for those throwaway passwords for users we sometimes have.
More importantly I'd like to be able to include our company logo in the e-mail and portal so users and partners trust it more.
Thanks.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. We already have a feature request opened to include the company logo and color. I invite you to add your voice here: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/44071/customise-devolutions-send#204184
Regarding your need to generate a password, what do you do with that password after it is generated? Do you save it in RDM or something similar? I assume you are using that password elsewhere, otherwise, your user cannot use it anywhere, right?
Best regards,
François Dubois
Hi François
Sounds great about the branding, I'll add my voice.
Regarding password generation, I basically just throw it away - It's quite common that users need their password reset and for various accounts we don't allow selfservice.
This would be a much useful feature for our support staff.
Thanks.
