Prevent creating tags

We want to prevent creating tags by every users.
Because we want to prevent the spread of tags.
Now it is a part of the edit permission, so it is not possible to restrict it specifically.

We will have to discuss internally how we want to go about adding this granularity to the permissions to our suite of products.

I second that idea. We're kind of in the same boat. While I appreciate people trying to organise entries, using tags quickly gets out of hand as everybody adds/creates them as they see fit (my absolute favourite are duplicate tags containing typos).
Just the possibility to restrict who can create then would be greatly appreciated.
