Hi, first of all kudos to the DVLS team for their awesome support, I always solved all my problems thanks to this forum and I hope this topic may help to improve the product.
Recently I moved my DVLS backups from a custom script (scheduled with the Windows Server task scheduler) to the DVLS Backup Scheduler and I noticed that the database backups are not compressed unless you set a password on the backup itself.
I think It should be helpful to add a flag to compress the backup regardless the password protection or add a message that informs administrators that only adding a password the backup will be compressed.
Also regarding backups I think it would be awesome if we could have more flexibility on the backup configurations, for example:
Thanks

Hello Tas,
Thank you for your suggestion and the good words about our DVLS team.
We will have a look how we could inform users that the database backups are not compressed without a password. Thank you for reporting this.
And regarding your different requests, we don't have work planned on our backup tools. To be honest, we added that backup feature as a basic backup tool for users who don't know SQL Server, but we recommand our users to backup directly with SQL Server tools. The backup can be complex and can be made different ways. Despite this, I'm taking note of your feedback and we will follow this tocpic to see if there's any additional interest or input from other users.
Best regards,
François Dubois
