Devolutions Server requires re-auth frequently

avatar

Dear Team,

we are having the issue that we are required to re-auth multiple times per day.
It happens during normal working sessions, as in for example, RDM is open and we are actively using RDP and we try to open a new entry or similar.

While it is not the end of the world to re-auth, it becomes quite a nuisance after a while.
It seems to happen more often when we are working with VPNs.

RDM Version 2023.2.17.0
DVLS Version 2023.2.5.0

Note: This is an ongoing issue since a few months, it has nothing to do with any recent updates.

If I can provide any further information, please let me know.

Your assistance is much appreciated,
MG

Hello,

Could you please try to modify the Refresh token lifetime parameter?
https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/devolutions-server/knowledge-base/dvls-security-hardening/#refresh-token-lifetime

Then restart the DVLS web instance using the Stop Server/Start Server button on the DVLS Console.

If that still doesn't help, do you have any relevant error messages in the DVLS Logs?

Best regards,

Hello,

Refresh Token Lifetime is already set to 2 days. Timeout to 2879.
I couldn't find any relevant errors in the logs.

I can instruct everyone to take notes of the time when they are getting re-auth requests incase that helps for diagnostics?

Best Regards,
mg

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

Did you get any replies from the users that they are still experiencing this disconnection problem?

If they confirm that the issue still exist, even if the settings are already properly configured, is it possible to slightly modify one of them and then do the Stop Server/Start Server?

Best regards,

Hello,

I hereby confirm that the issue still persists after slighty modifying the options and restarting the server.
We are able to replicate it consistently when the network changes.

Hello,

Could you please try to disable the Force token public IP validation option as mentioned in the following article?
https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/devolutions-server/how-to-articles/force-token-ip-validation/

Let us know if that helps.
