Trouble Authenticating - "WARNING: Your connection is not ready"

avatar

I recently installed Devolutions.Powershell v 2023.1.0.9, coming from RemoteDesktopManager v 2022.3.1.6. The first time I ran a cmdlet, Devolutions opened a window and had me log into my Devolutions Server to authenticate, and then I was connected to the Data Source (This is typical and what would happen when running cmdlets in RemoteDesktopmanager).

Now, I don't get prompted to authenticate, and Get-RDMCurrentDataSource shows IsConnected : False, and nothing I do seems to kick off the authentication again (RemoteDesktopManager used to have me authenticate each time I ran cmdlets in a new terminal). Running Get-RDMRepository doesn't provide a list of repositories, instead I see a warning "WARNING: Your connection is not ready."

I uninstalled the module and re-installed it, and saw the same behavior - the first time I ran a cmdlet, I was prompted to authenticate, but closing and re-opening the PS7 terminal would result in not connecting or being prompted to authenticate to the Data Source.

Is there a new cmdlet I need to run to authenticate first?

Hello,

What DVLS version are you using?

If it's version 2022.3.x, then you need to use the RDM PowerShell module as stated in this article.
https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/devolutions-powershell/remote-desktop-manager/rdm-powershell-core-module/#how-to-install

You will have to first uninstall the Devolutions.PowerShell module and then install the RemoteDesktopManager module.

Let us know if that helps.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

Do you get any relevant error message in the DVLS Logs or in Reports - Login Attempt on the DVLS web UI?

Hi,

Sorry, nothing relevant in DVLS Logs or in the Login Attempt logs.

I just launched a PS7 terminal and ran Get-RDMRepository this morning. It prompted me to sign into my Devolutions Server again, and authenticated correctly. Now, once I close the terminal, open a new PS7 terminal, and try Get-RDMRepository again, it responds with the same warning as above.

Just wanted to provide another example of this happening.

Same behavior with this module, but I received this output:

The type initializer for 'System.Net.Quic.MsQuicApi' threw an exception.

Let me know if there are any specific tests you want me to try or if there's anything else I can provide.
