First of all, I am not trying to search entries within vaults, I am trying to search vaults themselves.
We have a fair amount of vaults (close to 500). One vault per customer, so we can granularly grant access to customer credentials for external contractors, etc. We have a lot of customers that do business with us under different names. It is fine in those cases to have credentials grouped. So I decided to add the secondary, and any other names in the description field of the vault.
When in Vault Administration, I can filter vaults, and it searches both name and description fields, as seen in attached image.
In the application (either by visiting the DVLS URL using the browser, or connecting through RDM), I am only able to search/filter on the vault Name field.
Is the option to filter vaults by description simply not there in the applicaton?

Hello Jeroen,
It is currently not possible to search for a vault by using the description, so I moved your topic to the feature request section of the forum so it can be considered by the engineering team.

Hello,
I looked your request and you are right, in DVLS, we don't search in description, only the name. To be sure that we are talking about the same thing, here is what I tried.
Here is what it should be displayed, even with a search of "alt"
I will add a task in our backlog to search in vault name, but also in vault description, it should not be a problem.
In RDM though, when you want to select a vault, it works well from what I have seen.
Could you confirm that if we improve DVLS to search in vault name, but also in description, it would be good for you ? But RDM seems to be already good.

Hi François,
Oh, I see, a case of PEBKAC :) ... I was using the entry search function, instead of the vault search in RDM. It's great that that works, since most of the users in our company use RDM to connect to the server. It's just me and 5 other application admins that use the web interface for administration purposes.
If you think it would improve the overall product, by all means, add it. But my main concern was that lacking it would hinder our end-users, and it doesn't for those using RDM, which is the vast majority. So if you add it, it's low-priority.
Thanks!!!
Hello,
I think it is something that someone else could need it so we will add it but glat to hear that your end-users will not be blocked since they use RDM.
Have a nice end of day,
Best regards,
