Hello,
we have multiple user accounts for the same server. So the server is created in the company vault and the users have a account in the user vault.
The settings I use is at credentials "Find by name (User Vault)": server1
Every user has that account name with key1 to access the server.
The account needs to be named with "server1". Is there another possibility to name it different? Because the user account is used for different servers.
And I don't want to create multiple user accounts for the same login. On a password change it would be to much work.
I couldn't find a solution to add the "server1" entry in the account which would be read by the "Find by name". I tried "Tags" for example.
Thank you for your help!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter.
Is the same username/password used on the different servers? If so, you could name "server", for example, and always reference that entry.
If they use several credentials, depending on which server they connect to, they will unfortunately need to update those credentials when a password change is performed. Would it be possible to provide more information on what you are trying to accomplish?
Tags cannot be used to link a credential to an entry.
Best regards,
Richard Boisvert
Yes, we have the same credentials for different servers.
If I change the password of User1 I have to change 3 accounts.
account1: user1 password1 server1
account2: user1 password1 server2
account3: user1 password1 server3
Because the name lookup "Find by name" is looking for the exact name for the server.
Best would be if I could add multiple names for the same credentials where the "Find by name" is looking at.
Hope it is clear enough :) If not I can add some informations.
Hello Thorsten,
Since all the users are using the same credential to connect to the server, simply set the name of the credentials to the same for all users, for example "server-credentials".
You can then set the Find by name (User Vault) to look for "server-credentials". You do not need to have the same name for the credential as the server you want to connect to.
Another alternative is to the set the "My Personal Credentials" or the "My Privileged Account" with your credentials:
Then, in your session, you simply set the credential to the appropriate one.
With either of those solutions, you will only have one set of credentials to modify after you perform a password change.
