Hi,
We use Devolutions server and RDM for out password management and remote access to servers. I have a new team member starting and I want they to log into servers with their own login details and NOT use the admin details stored in the vault entry. Is there a way I can do this?
I wan tot still keep a record of the admin detail associated with the entry, but I don't want users ti use this to log in. I want they to log in with an individual account.
Hello,
There are multiple ways to manage credentials.
First, you can ask your users to set their credentials on the host or the folder with inheritance with the User Specific Settings.
Or you can bind the host to a credential entry in the User vault that has the exact same name for everybody.
Or it could be a credential save in My Personal credentials.
Let me know if that helps.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
Great thanks.
I think that linking each entry back to a user vault and a names entry might be the best way but how can I do this? I've tried editing the linked account on the item but I can't see a way to link it bak to a user entry, just a vault entry on the same vault.
One additional question. Is there a way I can configure this for just a group of users? or would this be for all users?
I've tested this with the My Personal Credential method and this is working perfectly. Thanks. I now just need to do and re-configure all 200 RDM entries to switch authentication over to using that :(
