v2021.2.1.3 / Kubuntu / RDP Connections not possible

avatar

I'm running RDM v2021.2.1.3 (FREE Mode) installed on a Kubuntu 22.04 (KDE-Plasma 5.23.90 / X11 ) System.

Problem:
I'm not able to get a RDP Session connected. The Connection-Tab opens and closes directly.

If i start the RDM from console, i get these Failures:

What i have already tested:

  • Search the Forum
  • change the Datasource (from local to gdrive and back)
  • reinstall
  • just try a Quick-Connection without Authentication Data
  • disable sandboxing

RDP Connections with other Tool like KRDC works fine

Anybody any suggestions?

Update on my tests:
i found in my archive the previous downloaded Version (RemoteDesktopManager.Free_2021.2.0.9_amd64.deb).

I removed the current installed Version v2021.2.1.3 and installed the previous Version v2021.2.0.9.
This Version works for me.

But there seems to be a BUG in the Version v2021.2.1.3

Hi,

Your screenshot seems to indicate FreeRDPSandboxed, which is a companion app used to contain rdp season in order to prevent crashes from bringing down RDM, is having some issues.
You could try disabling sandboxing (either in Preferences (main menu button) -> Session Type -> RDP -> Sandboxing or in the RDP entry settings, in the advanved tab of the Microsoft Remote Desktop section) if you would prefer to run the up to date version.
I will also open a ticket so we can try to reproduce your issue and fix the problem.

Hi,

i already tried disabling the sandboxing. Same behavior when openeing an RDP Session.
Normally i try to run the up to date version - but for now the last one is ok because of tight schedule.

Hi xlangex,

Unfortunately, we couldn't manage to reproduce the issue, but, since 2021.2.1.3, we've made a lot of back end changes and that might be a reason as to why this issue won't happen on our end. At the time or writing this, the 2022.1.1.4 version is very close to done and should be released in the following days and might include a fix to your issue. If this still occurs despite the update, please write back so we can investigate further and hopefully get RDP back on track.

Thank you for your patience.

Best regards.
