TOTP timing issues

We have noticed some issues regarding the timing of TOTP tokens in RDM.
They are also present on Windows installations, but are less intrusive. The main issues resides on the Linux installations.

When our users start RDM, they have to enter a TOTP-token. Some of the users are experiencing timing issues, even when the phone and computer are syncing to the same timeserver, issues can be present.

In worst case we've noticed that there can be a difference of around 20 seconds, which is huge when a token is only valid for 30 seconds. Best case, users are experiencing a delay of 5-10 seconds.

Is there a possibility to implement a margin to the TOTP in the application as is done with most web-based applications that use a TOTP?
