I have been running RDM Free on multiple linux distros the last year or so. I have found a few issues, mostly annoyances that do not occur in the Windows and MacOS versions of RDM Free.
Tested OS's:
KDE Neon
Pop_OS! 20.04 - 21.10
Copy and Paste does not work in SSH sessions (on KDE Neon there was a key mapping issue that temp fixed this issue).
Devolutions Password Hub Personal vault connection refreshes every few minutes causing a pop-up (lasts a split second) which takes focus on the screen, which forces my cursor to change windows. This is extremely annoying when working on scripts in VSCode or when renaming files in a file manager.
When using dark theme the default colors in SSH cause issues. The blue assigned to folders when doing ls, is way too dark on a black background to the point that it is almost illegible. I know this can be changed, thought a lighter blue out of the box would help other users.
Also on occasion an SSH session will not allow most input. I can backspace if there is something typed on a line, but when trying to input other text the session does not respond. In most cases closing the session and reopening will resolve this, but I have also seen a few instances where I have to completely restart RDM Free. In the most recent case (just now) 1 of 4 sessions was affected. These sessions had sat open over night.
I can spin RDM Free up in other OS's to test upon request.
Hello,
Just to let you know that I opened a ticket to our engineering department and they will have a look at the list of issues that you provided us next week because or office is currently closed for the holidays.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi,
Thank you for the feedback.
The shortcuts to copy/paste in an SSH terminal are Ctrl-Shift-C and Ctrl-Shift-V.
Are they working for you?
This sound like an annoyance alright. I've opened a ticket to look into it.
I've opened a ticket to see what can be done about SSH colors used by default.
We have a fix internally for SSH not accepting input after alt-tabbing that will be available in our next release. This might also solve your issue.
Regards
Jonathan Lafontaine
Jeff and Jonathan,
Thanks for your responses.
Ctrl+Shift+C & Ctrl+Shift+V work, right click copy/paste do not.
Thanks
Thank you for the clarification, I'll forward this information to the engineer in charge of the SSH control.

Hi @RealZombiegeek,
Coming in version 2022.1 should be the fix to that pesky popup stealing focus !
Do tell us if the fix works for you as I suspect it might also partly be due kde and the fact the we work on gnome...
Best regards,
David Ringuet
Thanks for the update! Pop_OS 21.10 runs on Gnome 40.
I will update as soon as i can update to 2022.1 on my Pop_OS box.
Unfortuanately after installing 2022.1.0.7 on Pop_OS, RMD is still stealing focus when refreshing its connection to Devolutions Personal Hub.
Right-Click to paste is now working thought! Steps in the right direction! Thank you!!!
Sorry our fix didn't solve your issue.
I'll reactivate this ticket so we can have another look at it.
Regards
Jonathan Lafontaine
Thanks Jonathan.
Hi RealZombiegeek,
About the popup stealing the focus, we tried another fix that will be available on the next update (2022.2.1). Since we can't reproduce the issue on our side, please let us know if that works for you.
Regards,
Gabriel Dubois
This is slightly better in 2022.2.0.6 but not gone.
I am now on Pop_OS 22.04 if that makes any difference.
