Update to latest version tells me Cannot grant, deny, or revoke permissions to sa, dbo, entity owner, information_schema, sys, or yourself. in the installation wizard
Hi,
I've updated to the latest Build today morning and the installer told me that everything was installed but I have also received the following message in the log "Cannot grant, deny, or revoke permissions to sa, dbo, entity owner, information_schema, sys, or yourself.".
The Password Server is working fine on the new version, but what should I do with this message now ?

Thomas

Hello,
This message refers to the least permissions that needs to be applied for the web application and the scheduler account on the SQL database. To apply those permissions, please edit the DVLS instance, go in the Database tab and click on the Advanced Credentials button. Then click on the Apply Least Permissions button for the the Scheduler Service and Web Application section.
If it's not working, please see this topic to generate the SQL statements to run it on the database.

Hi,
thank you for your reply.
Thats what I get when I try to Apply The Least Permissions for the Scheduler Service and the Web Application.
The Username field is prefilled with the Service User.
When I try to run the generated SQL Script, I get the same message in SQL Management Studio.

Thomas
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
Are the accounts already db owner on the SQL database?
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
I'm having the same issue. I can confirm that the user is already a db owner on the database. When I run the generated scripts I get the same error as Thomas.
Hello,
If the accounts are already db owner, then the application will run perfectly.
A ticket has been opened to our engineering department regarding to prevent displaying these error messages when the account is already db owner.
When the engineering department resolves the issue, a comment will be added to this thread and you will be notified.

Hi,
yep the user does have db_owner rights.
Hello Thomas,
Thank you for your reply. So you can ignore the error messages as this account is already owner of the database.
Best regards,
Érica Poirier
