Trying to use Wayk to access our company's windows host computer on my Mac. It only shows me the SRD option on my Mac to connect to the windows remotely. It doesn't give me the option to use SRP even though the SRP is set up on the windows host computer? How am I able to get automatic remote access?
Hello
SRP authentication is for "attended" access; meaning there must be a user logged in to the remote machine with Wayk Now running. If that's the case, and the SRP option is not available when connecting, please let us know - otherwise, for unattended access, it's necessary to use SRD authentication. SRD will accept Windows user credentials; where the Windows user is a member of administrators, remote desktop users or wayk-users groups.
Please let us know if something is not clear, or if you have further questions!
Thanks and kind regards,

Okay can I use SRD if my computer is a mac and the host computer is windows?
Hello
Yes, it will work in a cross-platform case! The only prerequisite for SRD / unattended access is a valid license - if you don't have one, you can request a trial.
Please let us know if you have further questions!

Okay and how do you find the username when you are trying to connect?
Hello
I'm not sure I completely understand the question. When you connect using SRD authentication, you provide credentials for the system - in the case of a Windows host, you need to authenticate as an administrator or a user authorized for remote access (determined by membership of the groups I wrote above).
After you authenticate - given the default settings - Wayk will try to show you the currently active user session on the machine, if there is one. If there is more than one active user session, simple heuristics are used to determine which one to show you; and if there is no active user session, you'll see the Windows login screen where you can login to Windows and start a new session.
Does that clarify things? Please let us know if you have further questions!

Yes I'm just trying to connect to the unattended computer. To login to wayk it provides the password, but not the username when trying to connect via SRD? The mac laptop is already registered from the host computer? How would I find the username?
Hello
Windows user credentials (expected by SRD) are the credentials you would use to login to and manage the machine - the same as if you were connecting over RDP, or even using the physical computer itself. In a domain environment, they may be managed by the system administrator; otherwise, depending on the version of Windows, local users may be managed through the local users and groups administrative snap-in, or through the Windows Settings app.
Please let us know if you have further questions!
