Hi,
I have a quick question in regards to wayknow.
We have a customer which is currently thinking of purchasing waykNow but currently have a bigger issue.
When starting waykNow it should establish a connection to the Den Server. However, this is not happening currently and the status never reaches "ready".
They are currently testing version 2020.1.3.
Before I start sniffing around with wireshark, do you maybe have ideas / tests I should do first?
Some logs you would like to have?
Kind regards,
Pat
Hi Pat
There's a few things we can do to diagnose that before you start spending time with Wireshark, etc. If you can start by sending us a diagnostic log, we'll take a look into it.
Assuming that you are running Windows and installed Wayk Now using the .msi, you could start by providing this file: %programdata%\wayk\logs\NowSession.log
(If your platform or setup is different let me know and I can provide alternative instructions)
You can attach the log here, send it via a PM or email to support@devolutions.net
Thanks and kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
Bonjour Richard!
I was on the clients PC right now but could not find any file called NowSession.log.
I have however another log file from wayknow. I will PM it to you. Seems like a DNS issue. I have a feeling its the proxy they are using.
Kind regards,
Pat
Hi Pat
Thanks for sending over the client log file. As you suppose, the error appears to be that den.wayk.net can't be resolved. The connection to Wayk Den uses secure websockets (basically https; port 443) - nothing magical.
If you can provide more information about the client network setup, we can help to troubleshoot that further. For example, we do have proxy detection but certain configurations can require manual tuning on our side (there's no "one size fits all" with that stuff).
Thanks and kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
