Hello
I can reproduce that issue on Ubuntu 19.10, and we will work on a fix for that.
Thanks for the bug report and I will post back here once I have an update.
Kind regards,

Hello again
It seems that the GTK version that ships with Ubuntu 19.10 made the menu bars transparent, so the background colour of whatever is behind the menu now "shows through".
In most cases this isn't a problem for us, except for in the session window where we employ a dark background colour.
I have implemented a fix that should resolve this in the next release of Wayk Now, and I'll post back here once that's available.
In the meantime I'm afraid I don't have a workaround for that. The transparency of the menu appears to be independent of the theme chosen, so overriding the shell theme doesn't work. I'm also unable to find a setting or variable in GTK to get the old behaviour back.
Thanks for your patience and please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
