Hi,
I bought wayknow but generally im unhappy with this tool... more often not work then work and I need finish my work with TighVNC :(
Maybe I'll start post debug logs and you can help make wayknow better.
Here is log from customer site where I did try help him today.
I also include my debug log - I have turned it on all the time.. maybe you'll find another sessions with connection issues.
Hi,
I'm sorry about the issues you experienced, sending us the logs is the right thing to do. The issue appears to be the peer-to-peer connection setup, where a network route has to be negotiated and selected. The customer log shows a couple of warnings and then the selected route apparently works for a short period of time before dropping entirely. The good news is that we have an option to enable a much more reliable peer-to-peer connectivity by using a TCP relay instead of attempting NAT traversal with UDP-based protocols.
If you go in the Wayk Now options, under Connectivity, you can enable "Prioritize relay servers for peer-to-peer connections". This option will work as long as one of the two sides has the option enabled, and both sides use a recent enough version of Wayk Now (3.1+).
We introduced this new feature in 3.1 but didn't enable it by default. We fixed a stability issue with the relay servers last week, but other than that, we are confident that this is the most reliable solution moving forward. The only downside to using a relay server is that Wayk Now will not attempt a direct connection or attempt NAT traversal to get a direct connection through NAT. However, it is much easier to guarantee reliability and connection success than with UDP-based protocols and NAT traversal. It is also much easier to allow in a firewall, the current version of the relay servers use TCP/8080 outgoing connections only, while the UDP-based protocols use different ports every time and are very sensitive to the network environment they are used in.
As for performance, our TCP-based relay servers are deployed in multiple instances globally and Wayk Now automatically selects the relay closest to the server. From what we have seen so far, performance is actually pretty good, much better than we were expecting.
Best regards,
