I have come across an issue when accessing COMPANY level variables from a sub connection.
I have created a typing macro - which just outputs the PARENT_NAME and the COMPANY_CUSTOM_FIELD1 variables.
I then have a COMPANY folder, within which is a SITE folder, within which is a HOST entry. Within the HOST entry are several sub-connections - including a PUTTY session and a REBEX SSH session (via a jump gateway) and a Notepad session for testing the macro.
If I start the sub-connections and then try to execute the macro in each of the three sub-connections, it only displays the correct value for the Notepad session. The other two SSH sessions just display the variable name as text.
I have included screenshots of the Typing Macro, the variable name at the Company level, and one for each of the sub-connections after executing the macro in the current tab.
I also tried the same test when NOT using sub-connections and it seems to work - so it looks like an issue with sub-connections.
I am running the latest version of RDM - 12.5.4.0
Cheers,
Steve

Hi,
I'm pretty sure it's bug with the subconnection. I will investigate.

Thanks.

Hello,
I've managed to reproduce the issue and it seemed to be specifically with Rebex/PuTTY and not our embedded terminal. We've made the appropriate changes which will be available in the next version of RDM.

Hubert, I am now running 12.5.8.0 and still have the issue with specific settings.
I am using a Rebex SSH sessions which is a sub-connection of a host session.
I have a simple macro to display the $COMPANY_CUSTOM_FIELD1$
In this setup, the macro does not display the correct value of the field- it just displays the field name.
If I "unparent" the Rebex SSH sub-connection it works fine. Other subconnections (Notepad and Putty) also work OK.
Cheers,
Steve

Hello Steve,
Hubert is currently on vacation. I'm sure he will answer you soon after he returns. Sorry for the delay.

No problem.
For info - I have noticed that the problem also still exists for PuTTY sessions - but only if they are sub connections.
Cheers,
Steve
Hello Steve,
I've tried to recreate the problem with both 12.5.8.0 as well as 12.5.11.0 which is our latest beta version, but I've been unable to on either of them. I must be missing a setting or a specific operation that would cause the issue. Would it be possible for you to make a video of the behavior as well as export the related entries (groups, SSH entry, host entry) and send them to me through private message? Make sure to remove any sensitive information beforehand.
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
