RDMS transition from online to offline locks up

When the system goes offline unexpectedly, the RDM client locks up and becomes unresponsive for quite some time before it decides it can't reach the server. Is there a way to speed that up or disable the client from looking to refresh the database until you hit refresh manually?

Hi,
I will verify if we can set a shorter timeout but I'm not sure if this is exposed. You can disable the auto refresh in the File->Data Source

Disabling the auto refresh doesn't prevent it from happening.
