Macro/Script to bulk send a command to a folder

While it looks like the majority of the available Macro/Script/Tools are Windows based, it would be great if there was more functionality for SSH based connections to network devices. We have a full blown NMS, but explicitly what would be nice would be to be able to right click on a folder and 1) have the capability to bulk send a command or list of commands to all contained either through SNMP or even worst case opening each connection up and sending the list of commands after authentication. 2) to do the same process and be able to gather a slightly configurable inventory report for all contained.

These are things that NetAdmins typically need often and usually spur of the moment, but can take quite a while to gather by hand. Is this something that could be handled, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi,
Do you have an idea how we could achieve that? Do we only need to send some command in the opened connection or we need an external tool?

In linux you can pass snmp commands with net-snmp, which also has a Windows build. That would be one place to start. You might try looking here: http://www.net-snmp.org/

Actually, here somebody has prebuilt the actual tools. I think you could use the snmpget.exe for the report information.

This is really interesting but I don't know anything about smnp. Could you you create in paint as small mockup of the configuration window you would see for that?
