Lag on Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 on RDM for Mac

  • Create an Issue
  • Cancel

When I connect to a host with Windows Server 2016 or Windows 10 the screen refresh is very slow, even on a local network.
Only with the "Desktop background" option active it works slowly.

What is your RDM and OS version?
Also, I will change the post to RDM Mac - Support

If disabling the "Desktop background" makes it more manageable, I'd usually suggest going with this.

But, do you see those performances issue in other RDP entries? You mention Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10, do you have sessions to other OS that do not have such an issue?

Can you get me a screenshot of you Preferences window with the Session Type -> RDP panel selected? Like this:

Could you also tell me the "RDP Engine" (session configuration -> RDP (Microsoft Remote Desktop) -> General -> RDP Engine) and the "Rendering engine" (session configuration -> RDP (Microsoft Remote Desktop) -> Advanced -> Sandboxing -> Rendering engine) selected in one of the troublesome entries?

Best regards,

Thank you both for the answer.

I have the RDM: 2020.1.2.0
And for Mac OS: Catalina10.15.3

It only happens on Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10. I have hundreds of hosts with Windows Server 2012 and 2008 and I don't have that problem.
This has been happening to me for a long time, but I left it thinking it would be solved in future versions.

RDP Engine: Default
Rendering engine: Default
