Cisco SSH enable option

  • Create an Issue
  • Cancel

It would be great to have an "enable" option in the SSH shell command or the option to enter an enable password inside of an existing credential entry. Right now I have to configure 3 different steps (Tool password, select tool, have different credential for tool to use, make sure security settings for variables are correct) to keep the enable password obfuscated and automated in the connection process.

Hello,

Do you need to send 2 different passwords to authenticate on your Cisco device?

Could you elaborate on the connection process please?

Best regards,

With cisco devices, you must use a username and password (this logs you into the console, and then submit the command "enable" {ENTER} "enable password" {ENTER}. The command that I used in a tool is "enable{ENTER}$TOOL_PASSWORD${ENTER}".

Hello,

Thank you for the information.

I would need to verify with our engineering department if something can be done.

Hello,

I had a chat with our engineering department regarding your request and we may have found something for you.

If you create a template for your Cisco devices that contain the macro (with our without the Tool password) and use this template to create your cisco devices entries, would this help?

For more information on the templates, please consult https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/file_templates.htm
