Please bring back rich text notes

Please bring back rich text notes as another tab on the standard templates like they used to have.

The main reason I moved form Roboforms to PMV was for the rich text notes so I could record additional info against my login credentials.

A few releases ago you dropped this feature so now we only have a plain text note field under the "more" menu on the left hand side.

Previously we could tick the "note/securenote" option below the menu on hte lft hand side to create another tab alongside the login details where we could record additional notes in RTF so could bold and underline to create some structure

OK embedding screenshots was really nice, but killed performance as PVM saves back to server on every edit so I can live without images, but really want more control of fonts etc.

Hello Grant,
What data source type do you use? We have the Documentation tab and mark down support:

Hello Grant,

Sorry to jump it, but if I my memory is not affected by the weekend, I think you are using Devolutions Online Drive fo your data source.

Please go in Administration -> Root Settings -> Settings and check the Allow RTF Description option. I think this is one of the two options that you are looking for.

For the second option, open the New Entry window and click on the ellipsis button at the bottom let and select Show Deprecated Entries.
Then, in the Documents section, you should see Text (RTF).

Hope this will help.

god posting an image is an nightmare! I must have wasted 30 minutes when I put my post up trying to get an image into my post. Looks like its still not working. Should not be this hard!

here are the three options from photobucket to post an image. Lets see if any of them work!

direct:

html:
<a href="http://s1004.photobucket.com/user/NZVarminter/media/pvm_zpsgrfyk5q3.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af163/NZVarminter/pvm_zpsgrfyk5q3.png" border="0" alt=" photo pvm_zpsgrfyk5q3.png"/></a>

img:

and now your image icon button, which I assume should have just the img url???

So how do I post an image within the post?

Clock3 mths

Hello,

On my side, when I went to attach a file into a post, I save the picture on my computer and attach it using this icon on the quick reply box
2018 09 11 08 34 04

If you want to insert the picture in a middle of your text, click on the down arrow at the bottom left and select Insert in Text
2018 09 11 08 35 33

That being said, does the solution proposed by David worked?

Hello,

Could you post a screenshot of the Administration -> Root Settings -> Section window please? I would like to know which option(s) are enabled in that area.

Best regards,

Aha.. my current setting:

Screenshot 12 09 2018 , 1 35 37 p.m.

have now ticked "allow multiple data entry types" and the various types now show up again!.

I had a previous issue with this about 2 or 3 releases when I was having extremely slow save times due to saving embedded images in records. The next release dropped the ability to have embedded images and thats when the multiple type options disappeared so I assumed it was no longer available. Since then I have been using an extg record that has the multiple types as my template for new records.

Now back to the way it used to be.

NB what is the last tick box for? "allow note in information"

Thanks for the great support.

Grant

Hello,

The allow notes in information will allow you to have a Notes tab inside the Information Section of your entries

The secure notes are still causing me problems.

Some new records provide for three types: plain, RTF and HTML, whereas others only provide for 2 options: HTMP and Plain:

Why has the RTF missing on some new records?

Hello,

As I understand, the 2 screenshots included in your post are from 2 new entry that you are trying to create right?

If it's the case, I am not able to reproduce on my workstation. Everytime I create a new Login Account entry and add the Note/Secure Note tab in it, the 3 types of secure note are available.

In Administration -> Root Settings -> Settings, here's my configuration:

Hello,

With the help of our expert Min Destens, I think we have found the culprit of your issue.

If you create your login account session first and then, add the tab for the Note/Secure note, the dropdown will contain the 3 types of secure note.

If you create your secure note first, the drop down will contain only 2 types of secure note.

I have opened a ticket regarding this to our engineering department. The ticker number is DEVO-623.

ok so it is a small glitch to be fixed. Thats great.

Clock2 mths

Hi,

The "Allow RTF description" root setting should work with secure notes. This change will be available in the next update.
