Forum / Remote Desktop Manager - Feature Request

password selector - pre filter

  • Create an Issue

Hi Guys,

we are using the RDM for our connections and passwords.
To connect to a server, we do a double click on the connection to open it, the password list appears and we type the hostname of the server in the search bar and select the corresponding password.

It would be great, to have kind of an intelligent pre filter for that task.
So that the normal password list would be shown, but above a filter that automatically searches for the hostname of the selected host.

See attached screenshot:
For example, opening a session for host XX-SL-CA01
The password has the same hostname in the title

Thank you!

Best Regards
Jonas

Hello,
I'm not sure to understand. You have multiple entry with the host name in the credential name?

Hi David,

no, this is a feature request.
Our connections are named with e.g. "XX-SL-CA-01 SSH" or "XX-SL-CA-01 RDP"
Our passwords are named e.g. "XX-SL-CA-01 root user" or "XX-SL-CA-01 service user"

We would like to make searching for a corresponding password easier.

We would love, that the password selector would look like that:

This is an imaginary interface I've edited, to show you what we need.

Normally this password selector shows you every password in your tree, so far so good.
But we would like to have a folder / section etc. above the sessions, that automatically displays results for the search of the first part of the connection name,
in our example "XX-SL-CA-01". (at the moment, we are doing the same, but manually entering the hostname in the search field)
That would be a lot easier.

Thank you!

Best Regards
Jonas

Thank you for the details. I will verify what we can do for that.
