Forum / Remote Desktop Manager - Feature Request

Reconnect after restart

Hi,

many times I reboot a server and wished that I had a cool way to complete the entire process.
Just think that you could add a feature that (when enabled in the option menu) will ping the server in the background and will show you the current status of the server and in the end will reconnect.

The steps:
1. recognize a disconnection from the source
2. ping the status
3. check for lost pings and live again
4. reconnect continually until a connection is established

This is a good idea. I have added it to me todo list.

Hello David, is there any updates regarding that feature request ?

I just switched from mRemoteNG to RDM and this is the only feature I am missing. Thank you.

How about allowing the use of the RDP Portscan for this feature instead of (or additionally to) Ping?
Our servers are usually pingable before the RDP Service is online.

It's now possible to use the port scan. Just edit the entry and go in the Advanced tab page. Change the Is Online setting for Port scan instead of Ping.

Thank you David,
Did i mention your support is the best i ever experienced?

Just a few questions:

  • Will this feature do a port scan on e.g. 22 for ssh/putty connections or 443 Web connections? Or more generic ports for a session type?
  • Where can i set the default for "Online detection"?
  • I have not found a batch Edit for "Online detection". Did i miss it or is it not available yet?

Hi Peter,

1. The port scan use the configured port or the default (3389 for example in RDP).
2. This is implemented internally and it will be available in the next release
3. This will also be implemented soon.

I have released the basic Port scan to satisfy one of our user but I knew that some small tweak were still required.
