Forum / Remote Desktop Manager - Feature Request

Batch Credential Form Discover

  • Create an Issue

Hello together,

We imported a huge amount of Logins for websites into RDM now.

To use the autofill option, we need to Discover every site for the correct Form ID / Username ID etc.
This works great, but with such a big amount of logins, it takes some time to go into all of them and just hit the Discover button.

So a "Batch Discover" Button/Menu would be great to do this for a lot of websites at once.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

I have entered a feature request to enable the auto discover. In the meantime you could set the value to [UserName] and [Password] to enable the auto discover. Use those values in a template before the import.

Hi David

I did the import via Roboform, so I can't change any values in the template.
Is there an easy way of exporting all these http/https cards now, enter the values you mentiond above and reimport them? Are there also values needed for Domain ID / Login Button ID etc. or are all fields autodiscoverd if [Username] and [Password] is defined?

Thanks a lot.

You could try an Xml export and edit the file manually but I'm not sure how easy it would be. We support only the username and password for the auto discover.

Okay.. I think we will wait until the Batch Discover is implemented, as we need all fields discoverd.

discover

About only Username and password support. When I hit discover manually, it discovers also other fields. I attached you a screenshot. Or are these two fields only supported during an import?

Thanks and greetings.

Hello,

When you do a batch edit, there now is a "Batch action" option. You can then select "Discover HTML Controls" which does what the "Discover" button does, but as a batch edit.

The change will be available in an upcoming release.

Hi Hubert

I did some testing today, but I could not find the Batch Action "Discover HTML Controls". Could you tell me exactly where I can find it? I attach you a screenshot. All our logins are in the type "Web browser http/https"

Thank you very much!

Hi David

Wow, what an honor :-) I won't tell anyone.. this message will destroy it self in 3... 2....

Just installed and tested it, it seems to work on some pages but not on all.

For example, if you create a Website http with the following entry: http://www.brack.ch/anmelden/

If you discover via Batch you get an error, that nothing is found, if you do it manually it works... Had this now with some Sites I was testing. As it should do the same as manual Discover, I don't know why its not working via Batch. (also if I only choose one site via Batch it wont work..)

Best regards.

I will ask Hubert to test this web site. You can post any other web site that doesn't work.

Hello,

There was a problem with the Discover batch action when used to discover controls on a website that either redirects to another website, or takes a longer time to load. The website you provided redirects to its HTTPS version when you try to open it as a simple HTTP link, so it caused some issues. I have also tested using the HTTPS version.

I have made some changes to the Discover batch action, the change will be available in an upcoming version. I hope this will solve your issue.

Hi,

I tried to change the saved credential of a few server entries with the "batch edit" buttom. But the link "select from list" seems to be missing. See the first screenshot compared to the second, that shows the "normal" way via "properties".

I also tried to change the login information of my lastpass entries with the "batch edit" buttom, but I didn't get it. Is this possible at all?

Best regards
