RDM Complex SQL Connection fails

  • Create an Issue
  • Cancel

On the windows side, I can enter a server as:
server.dns.name,11433\instance (this is a manual port override)

On the MAC version, I get an error "Input string was not in the correct format"

Hi,

Sadly this is a limitation of Mono. After some test I can tell you that you can use "," or "\" not the two of them together like you have. We will report a bug and I hope we will have a fix soon.

Thank you for reporting this.

Hi,

I received an answer from the the guys working on Mono. They said to me that normally you shouldn't need the port number and the instance name only one of the two is necessary. So your connection string could be:

server.dns.name,11433

or

server.dns.name\instance

They will try the fix the problem you mentioned but I think that this fix can take a long time to come as there is a walk around.

Tell me if you need anymore help with your sql server configuration
